Most of us really have very little time these days and always tend to be rushing in everything we do. A lot of people have been brought up to eat fast because of the fact that their parents were always in a rush and there are others who have just got into the habit themselves due to time constraints. A lot of us tend to just eat until we are completely stuffed. So is it so surprising that the number of overweight people these days is on the increase. For many people eating is not that enjoyable as they eat so fast and tend to eat a lot more because of it.

Whenever the body is in need of sustenance, the brain will send out signals which we interpret as hunger pangs. These hunger pangs go away once we have eaten and the brain sends out signals to the body to let it know that it is no longer hungry. But when you eat fast, you do not give your brain a chance to realise that you have satisfied the hunger; that means that we continue eating before the brain has even sent out the signals to let the body know that it is not hungry anymore. Another problem with eating fast is that it also means that our food does not get digested properly as a lot of digestion occurs in the mouth – we also don’t chew or food.

You can give your brain a chance to realise that the body has had enough food by eating slower. It also means that you get to enjoy your food a lot more. It might be really worthwhile to take a bit of extra time to enjoy your meal as you will be also getting other advantages. Some overweight people claim that they just don’t have the energy to exercise well here is one thing that they can do that will require hardly any effort.
